Position Purpose
The Business Change Management (BCM) team is charged with controlling, managing and delivering a range of Programs, Projects and Change Initiatives for the CIB Securities Services business across Australia and New Zealand. The team is establishing a new testing function focused on Business specific testing as part of the overall testing lifecycle and is seeking a Business Test Practice Manager to lead this function. It is expected this individual will establish the function, create best practices, bring synergies across programs and generally help the various CIB 2S business units achieve their respective corporate goals and objectives while adhering to local, regional and global security standards.

The Practice Test Manager is responsible for:

  • The definition, execution, monitoring and ongoing improvement of the local test strategy
  • Testing governance and oversight across all projects
  • Simplifying testing processes and establishing best practices
  • Creation and maintenance of the overall portfolio test schedule and resource allocations
  • Design and development of test strategies for internal and joint testing
  • Provide assurance on testing coverage matrix
  • Own and manage the testing environment schedules and resources
  • Establishment and maintenance of standard Test deliverables
  • Definition and ownership of the Business Test Automation strategy and practice in collaboration with IT
  • Defect Management standards
  • Line management for any local based BCM testing resources and oversight of India 2S Testing capability

The Test Manager will work across all projects, having responsibility for the management, development, and the delivery of testing capability into projects that are managed across all platforms. 

Responsibilities

Controlling – keep projects on track by:

  • Measuring: checking test progress toward meeting its objectives
  • Evaluating: determining the cause of deviations from the plan
  • Correcting: Taking corrective actions to address deviations by managing risks and issues
  • Achieving the above by defining baselines, tracking test progress, and test status reporting, determining, and taking corrective actions

Stakeholder Management:

  • Working with project managers, Business analysts, Operational teams and subject matter experts 
  • Working with IT locally & globally (including regarding entry criteria to UAT, for management of test environments and code releases, and for test automation)
  • Business partnering with senior stakeholders internally and externally (clients, vendors, regulators) 

Team Management

  • Provides concise direction and objectives for the team members and evaluates their performance on a periodic basis
  • Manage a small offshore team (3-5) and oversight of local based Test resources as required
  • Leads by example, develops team spirit, shares information
  • Motivating test team members
  • Facilitates training, where required, on tools, processes, and procedures
  • Implements and enforces new processes and procedures
  • Reviews, updates, and enforces existing processes and procedures
  • Escalation point for Test related issues

Experience and Qualifications required

Required:

  • 5 yrs + Experience in leading/managing a team
  • 10 yrs + Experience in Testing
  • Experience working with an offshore team
  • Experience in Customer (internal/external) facing roles

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of custodian and/or funds management administration
  • Working knowledge of IT systems and environments
  • Experience with financial institutions
  • Tertiary qualification in IT
