The IG Hub UK is a
geographical Hub, covering all activities in the UK and Channel Islands.

The Hub has five audit
teams. These teams are split by business activity covering all activities
within their area of responsibility.

The Hub’s remit is to
provide audit services to the Businesses, Operations and Functions in the UK
and Channel Islands in close liaison with Senior Management and Head Office
entities. The main focus is to help the organisation accomplish its objectives
by bringing a systematic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of
the governance, risk management, and internal control processes.

As part of a global IG
Professional Practice set-up, the Professional Practice & data role within
the IG Hub UK supports the Hub in the planning, steering and reporting of
the audit work and ensuring that the Hub’s practices, procedures and
methodologies remain compliant with IIA standards and applicable regulatory
requirements (incl. UK) and BNP Paribas policies and procedures.

Job Purpose & Scope

The role holder will be responsible for supporting
the Professional Practice & data processes within the IG Hub UK. They will act
as a key team member assisting the IG Head of Hub UK, Hub UK COO, Deputy Heads
of Hub and QA team to ensure that all audits carried out by the Hub follow
global BNPP standards, regulatory requirements and best market practice in
order to achieve the objectives of the IG Hub UK. They will work closely with
the wider IG community (e.g. IG Head Office (Paris), Professional Practices
Expertise Centre for Europe, IG Data Lab). The role holder will report to the
IG Hub UK COO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executes planning, organisation and
    steering of the internal audit activities of the IG Hub UK, in close
    coordination with Hub Paris CIB, Ireland & MEA and Central IG, in order to
    ensure the Hub is delivering quality service in line with BNPP’s strategic goals
    and objectives. Example of such activities include: IG cartography, risk
    assessments, multiyear audit plan, audit reporting.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest changes
    in policies, procedures and guidelines implemented by IG Central related to
    professional practice/audit professional standards and other relevant functions
    within BNP Paribas, as well as with regulatory audit requirements and methods
    of practice in the market or expected by the IIA and other relevant regulators
    and contributes to their implementation within Hub UK.
  • As part of IG Digital Transformation
    Programmes and audit activities, works under the guidance of the Hub UK COO to
    implement various initiatives, such as:
  • Organising the communication within the
    Hub and maintaining the Hub SharePoint in order to keep the Hub updated on the
    transformation programmes, policies/methodologies, regulatory requirements and
    best market practice (incl. through Townhalls, training, newsletters)
  • Participating to the Change Actors
    forums  
  • Utilising data analytics, developing and
    managing operational initiatives to enhance audit methodologies and processes
  • Assists the Head of IG Hub UK, Hub COO, and
    other relevant team stakeholders to prepare the annual budgets, including FTEs
    per assignment, T&E and training expenses, to be presented to both IG
    Central and CIB for IG Hub UK, as well as all regular and ad-hoc reporting, and
    identifies and monitors appropriate KPIs for the Hub’s performance.
  • Supports the Head of IG Hub UK, Hub COO,
    and other relevant team stakeholders to ensure deliverables and processes
    related to the people management of the hub are completed, delivering quality
    service in line with BNPP’s strategic goals and objectives, within proper timeframe.
  • Establishes good relationships with key
    stakeholders in teams that the IG Hub UK works with and/or reports to (e.g. IG
    Central) to fully understand business requirements.

Essential
experience and competencies

  • Excellent analytical skills, including
    ability to quickly understand the critical steps in a process, synthesise and
    process complex information and understand the related risks of various
    natures, including use of data.
  • Good working knowledge of a wide range of
    audit principles, processes, regulations and legislation appropriate to support
    the work undertaken by Internal Audit.
  • Excellent
    data analytics skills, including in the use of tools such as Power BI or
    Tableau, as well as Microsoft collaboration tools (SharePoint, Forms,
    OneNote…).
  • Previous
    experience in the utilisation of data analytics to improve operational
    performance.
  • Excellent
    people management skills and an ability to work with individuals to translate
    strategic objectives into practical operational change and solutions.
  • Good communication / relationship
    management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills
    in order to articulate technical issues associated to work area.

Preferred competencies

  • An
    academic background in a quantitative discipline.
  • Previous
    experience in an Internal / External Audit / Risk or Operational Permanent
    Control Function, or Consultancy Firm
  • Professional qualification with knowledge
    related to the oversight and management of an audit function within the banking
    / finance sector.
  • Appetite for continuous development on
    Data Analytics (Python) and collaboration tools.
