About Business line/Function: 

The Global Markets business of BNP Paribas helps its corporate and institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it.

 FX Plus is a worldwide platform that provides FX rates for international payments. The FX products include live rates, guaranteed rates and pre-negotiated rates. FX Plus has feature-rich and real-time pricing capabilities that create a win-win situation for BNP Paribas and its corporate and retail clients with more FX choices at better rates. FX Plus covers APAC, Middle East and Europe, North America regions.

 

 FX Plus currently has two major ambitions:

 

· Expansion into new BNP Paribas Group territories, domestic banks and payment processing providers

 

· Introduce new product offerings such as exotic currencies and API products

 

The FX Plus IT team is recruiting for a highly motivated Business Analyst who will be a key player in delivering FX Plus functional change in support of these ambitions.

Position Purpose: 

The role is for a Business Analyst to be an experienced member of the Business Analyst team, working in collaboration with the Product and IT teams to capture business requirements and provide functional specifications for FX Plus.

 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • · Liaise with business sponsors, users and other teams (potentially outside of CIB) to capture business requirements and provide functional specifications for FX Plus.

     

    · Participate in prioritisation meetings with business sponsors.

     

    · Maintain feature backlog and gather estimates from developers.

     

    · Define functional test cases.

     

    · Participate in functional testing.

     

    · Provide and maintain user guides.

     

    · Liaise with development teams to ensure accurate functional coverage and validate test scenarios.

     

    · Ensure all functional requirements are fully satisfied to a high quality prior to release.

     

    · Provide project management overview of developments as they progress.

     

    · Manage and escalate risks and issues.

     

    · Mentor junior members of the team.

       To work with remote teams across multiple regions.

Contributing Responsibilities

· Prior exposure to systems involved in the FX part of the payments chain.

 

· Prior exposure to either FXConnect or Bloomberg (or both).

 

· Prior exposure to the Real Money desk flows, products and processes.

 

· Experience in testing complex flows distributed across multiple systems. Experience working in an Agile team.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • · Strong experience as a Business Analyst in an FX trading environment.

    · Strong experience as a Business Analyst in a system involved in the payments lifecycle

    · Strong analytical and interpersonal skills as well as reporting capabilities

    · Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written 

    · Strong understanding the FX cash business and the associated products (Spot, Fwd, NDFs)

    · Experience with working with in-house development teams distributed across regions

    · Experience of working in a formal project process methodology.

    · Familiarity with defect logging systems and defect testing and re-testing cycles.

    · Project management and team participation skills.
