About the job
- The team of Business Credit Advisors (BCA) is a transversal team of financial risk experts inside the Business (CIB2S SBD&T).In this role, you will develop close relationships based on confidence with the people in diverse CIB2S departments (client development representatives, product managers, senior management) and other teams closely involved in risk management: FIC ICAT and RISK teams acting as 2 Line of Defense (LoD2)
Your Main Activities Are
- Contributing to the credit approval process by acting as a privileged point of contact within the CIB2S organization for the Client Development & Business lines of CIB2S and, on the opposite side, for the LoD2 RISK representatives
- Assist and help the Business in the preparation and structuring of credit requests both for ad-hoc requests and for regular annual reviews
- Provide FIC ICAT analysts and RISK Delegation holders / (Senior) Credit Officers the results of your risk analyses to be included in the credit request applications, mainly a) transactional analyses and resulting calibration of risk limits and 2) recommendations with regards to legal protections, collateral and other credit risk mitigation techniques
- Participate on an ad-hoc basis in client due diligence and more broadly in client discussions if this is deemed necessary to appropriately assess the risk profile of the client or of a specific product & service offer
- Participate in the credit committees alongside client development or other Business representatives
- Ensure the follow-up of the credit requests throughout end-to-end workflow, facilitating the communication between the Business and the FIC ICAT & RISK teams to ensure the process is as smooth and efficient as possible
- Contributing to the preparation of credit risk reports, portfolio reviews, dashboards & presentations for the risk committees participating in the risk-related presentations, trainings on risk & regulatory subjects, credit committees, etc.
- Preparing & performing training sessions for CIB2S stakeholders (mainly Client Development / Client & Business Lines) on the topics relating to credit & counterparty risk methodologies and credit process
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, whether initiated by CIB2S or RISK which are aiming at streamlining and improving either the risk approval process or other aspects of the applicable risk framework
- Contribute to risk management processes like, ensuring day-to-day management of risk limits within the responsibility of the Business itself , applicable to certain activities (core custody, clearing & settlement) and in selected geographies
Profile and Skills to Success
- Postgraduate in Economics, Finance or Accounting
- From 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in Banking and Financial Operations
- Fluent (C1-C2) level of English
- Ability to synthetize / simplify
- Good communication skills (both oral and written)
- Analytical ability
- Ability to conduct a negotiation
- Financial markets – Transversal Financial Markets
- Risk Management – Risk Analysis
