What is this position about?

 The role of ALMT Dealer is to support of the Head of ALM Treasury Australia and the ALMT of the Branch. ALMT Dealer contributes to i) the prudential management the liquidity position and market risks inherent in the Balance Sheet, in the allocated portfolio of currencies while staying within the delegated limits and in compliance with regulatory ratios ii) the desk’s PnL targets iii) the projects defined by the Head of the desk. 

 Under the supervision of the Head of ALM Treasury, the ALMT Desk prudentially manages the liquidity position and market risks inherent in the Balance Sheet. Based on Group ALCOs policies and decisions, the ALMT Dealer helps the team to manage the liquidity of the balance sheet of BNPP Australian Branch, comprised of the Assets and Liabilities of the significant business lines of the Branch (Global Banking, Global Markets and Securities Services) and ALM Treasury’s own activities staying within the delegated limits and in compliance with regulatory ratios.  The ALMT Dealer is expected to work towards the achievement of the ALMT Budget.  The ALMT Dealer is expected to contribute to the implementation of the liquidity policy and adhere to ALMT’s Dual Mandate.  

 ALMT Dealer may represent the ALMT from time to time. This may include in front of the business lines of BNP Paribas present in Australia, in the Financial Markets, and as appropriate the relevant Industry bodies. The ALMT Dealer receives support from dedicated specialist teams based either locally, regionally or centrally.

 Primary Role Responsibilities
 * Support the existing activities of the desk across transactional, analytical, and project activities.  
 * Help fulfil the ALM Treasury’s dual mandate.
 * Maintain a high standard of conduct in financial markets including adherence to regulatory and internal policies.    
 * Analyse the risks inherent within ALM Treasury
 * Comply with the internal framework for monitoring of risks via specific reference to defined risk indicators.
 * Comply with the Desk and Trader mandates, ALM Treasury policies, risk/credit limits and the banking laws.
 * Contribute to the management of risks, optimize the funding costs and allocate the liquidity buffer.
 * Facilitate and co-ordinate the transactional payments flows of BNPPAB and as appropriate aide the broader group.
 * Provide service to the internal and external clients and counterparties of BNPPAB.

 Commonly expected tasks associated with the position.
 * Information collection and dissemination
 * Data management and presentation (usually Excel and PowerPoint)
 * Ensure compliance with desk policies including prudential policies, market, credit and liquidity risk policies.
 * Ensures compliance with operational risk control framework, working to implement audit recommendations.
 * Provide Pricing support to other desks.
 * Pre- deal checks on limits, KYC status, and transaction suitability.
 * Perform PNL analysis/attribution, analysis of the balance sheet and its evolution.
 * Contribute to processes related to regular management reporting, such as liquidity dashboards and ALCO    documents, internal and external liquidity indicators monitoring.
 * Contribute to management of FX positions arising from day-to-day activities, and monthly FX PNL (sell down)
 * Maintain professional and constructive relationships with major counterparties in Financial Markets

 * Tertiary qualification within a related discipline
