About the job

The Financial Resources Analytics is accountable for delivering excellence in all trading risk strategy activities we lead or oversee. This includes ensuring that these activities align with the Bank’s objectives, client goals, approved risk appetites, and strategic priorities.

 

Your Main Activities Are

  • Assess and challenge the allocation and management of Risk and Resources (R&R) by the Business Lines (FICC) to ensure a strategic optimization of returns
  • Analyse Risk measures linked to capital consumption of Bank activities and ensure that return is optimised for capital allocation
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, and anticipate/ plan future regulatory changes, in relation to R&R management and capital allocation
  • Propose and implement solutions to facilitate new trades when BNPP’s risk appetite is reached
  • Identify and suggest innovative ideas to improve the Bank’s risk processes and reduce inaccuracies
  • Understand and monitor the main characteristics and concentrations of the risk portfolio managed by the team
  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports on individual counterparties, sectors and/ or country crisis 
  • Contribute to the reporting of the main risks and stress-tests across Global Markets
  • Maintain, improve and develop a toolbox for efficient risk management

 

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master’s in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Financial Mathematics or Engineering
  • Interest in Financial Markets
  • Expertise with data analysis– Python, VBA and SQL (Strongly referred)
  • Ability to provide clear and concise analysis
  • Process oriented with a problem-solving mindset
  • Curiosity, Attention to detail and Autonomy
  • Ability to communicate clearly – both oral and written forms
  • Fluency in English
  • Structured, methodical and organized approach to work

 

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Global Equities and Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities (FICC) Trading Risk Strategy (TRS) Team is responsible for managing trading positions’ risk and returns. To achieve this, we oversee the daily production of key position reports and stress tests for trading desks, as well as a weekly in-depth review of positions and Profit/ Loss (P&L) performance. Additionally, we participate in ad-hoc studies and deep dives to assess specific portfolio risks and expected returns, upon request.
