Principal Role Accountabilities

  • Manage, develop and grow the traditional trade and supply chain management product offering within a designated client base. 
    1. Lead origination and structuring of high value traditional trade and supply chain financing deals.
    2. Ownership of P&L driving revenues and managing costs to meet budget/strategic targets.
    3. Managing portfolio risk by setting limits, overseeing credit/operational compliance, and liaising with risk committees.
    4. Shape and execute the digital and sustainability roadmap (API platforms, blockchain, ESG linked products).
    5. Partner with coverage teams to capture outbound business and cross sell opportunities.
  • Participate in marketing of traditional trade (TT) and supply chain management (SCM) products to existing and prospective clients.
    1. Define and execute the go-to-market strategy to capture new prospects that fit with the Bank’s value proposition.
    2. Align product solutions with client specific needs, translating insights into actionable proposals.
    3. Prepare term sheets and lead senior level sales pitches.
    4. Maintain a transparent sales pipeline and regularly update senior management and cross-functional partners.
    5. Identify and drive cross sell opportunities across Cash Management, FX, Supply Chain Finance and related suite of services.
    6. Structure credit facilities and transaction solutions in strict compliance with Bank policies, coordinating with Coverage, Risk, Legal and Operations teams.
    7. Contribute actively to regional RFP/RFIs and pricing simulation requests.
  • Responsibility for follow up of marketing calls, including providing additional materials/information, any follow-up calling on the company’s key trade operatives, and providing feedback to/interface with coverage officers;
  • Research and identify prospective clients for allocated business initiatives;
  • Provide technical advice to Senior Bankers, Relationship Managers and clients on the Trade Finance suite, including URDG, UCP and ISP98 for traditional trade and associated policy and accounting rules for SCM product suite.
  • Complete Trade Finance and/or product memo, including review of product structure, documentation, pricing & return hurdles for all new trade product requests and annual review of existing trade facilities;
    1. Lead the credit approval workflow for new trade facilities, annual reviews, and ad hoc requests; produce comprehensive credit memoranda that capture risk, pricing, and structural features.
    2. Represent the franchise at Credit Committees to support the presented trade facilities.
    3. Oversee amendment and waiver processes, ensuring credit terms are promptly updated and reflected in all internal systems.
    4. Negotiate international trade legal documentation (Letters of Offer, security agreements, etc.) in close partnership with Coverage and Legal teams.
    5. Coordinate end to end execution across Coverage, Credit, Legal, Trade Operations, and Technology to guarantee timely, accurate documentation and safeguard the Bank’s collateral position.
    6. Guarantee proper booking of trade facilities in the accounting platform and confirm that all related accounting entries comply with regulatory and internal standards.
    7. Ensure all necessary compliance controls are properly applied.
  • Continuing education to keep abreast of international, political, economic and business events which may impact upon business operations or product development. Includes attendance at appropriate industry and client functions.
  • Drive industrialization and transformation projects:
    1. Deployment of new digital platforms in Thailand in conjunction with product, operations and tech teams.
    2. Maximize efficiencies through periodic review of procedures in coordination with Trade Operations and other relevant Functions.
    3. Tail Management

 

 

What is required for you to succeed?

  • 10+ years of experience and solid track record in Trade Finance/transaction banking structuring, risk, sales & marketing, including credentials in delivering complex mandates / products. 
  • Prior experience as a Credit/Banking Analyst or Front‑Office Analyst. 
  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Banking, Finance, Law, Business or a closely related field.
  • Proven ability to pitch, negotiate and close deals; professional, clear communication with senior management, internal departments, and external clients.
  • Quickly identifies problems, evaluates options, makes decisive recommendations and involves appropriate stakeholders.
  • Sets and maintains rigorous quality standards; efficiently prioritises tasks to deliver accurate results within agreed timelines.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting and presentations.
  • Consistently communicates reliably and confidently with internal and external stakeholders; fosters teamwork by providing support, encouragement, and recognition of achievements.
