What is this position about?

The Head of Global Markets Operations (‘GMO’) is responsible for driving and managing the execution of the strategic and operational mandate in the BSPB perimeter covering Global Markets activities.   This position will report hierarchically to the BSPB COO and functionally to the Regional Head of GMO

Primary Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the GMO team in Manila
  • To establish strong partnership with the regional head of Processing & Support, regional head of Collateral Operations and regional head of Product Control as well as the global heads for these scopes
  • Functional Operational scope: 
    • Product Control
    • Processing & Support, which includes GM Back Offices and GM Control functions – Tax, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting and Referential.
  • Responsible for setting strategic direction and tone for the function in partnership with regional and global stakeholders.
  • Oversee, sponsor (as required) and drive GM Operations project implementation roadmaps taking into account budget guidelines.
  • Actively manage and optimize budget, analyze value and risk drive relevant actions for GMO.
  • Oversee and be accountable for regulatory compliance and regulatory remediation in the GM Operations Canada scope
  • Is an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion of talents.

Required education/certification/licenses:

  • At least 10 years of experience within financial services industry leading wide remits / significantly sized teams
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills who can successfully operate cross border / cross function and business at every level of the organization
  • Ability to work closely with the front office stakeholders and partners
  • Ability to inspire and lead a geographically diverse talent group
  • Experience in day-to-day interaction with supervisor bodies and internal control groups
  • Experience with significant budget oversight and cost optimization
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute initiatives
  • Strong team management and development skills, with the ability to coach and mentor a diverse, large and geographically dispersed team at varying levels of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of Governance, Operations, Data flows and Control GM frameworks
  • BA or equivalent related to banking, financial services

FINRA Registrations Required: 

  • Series 99 (within 120 days)
