Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Securities lending and Synthetic PB trading activities so as to achieve and enhance budgeted Group PNL.
  • Manage and monitor firm’s inventory and be up to date with regulatory requirements and changes in order to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarize with all trading platforms, market specificities, regulatory dependencies, BNP offerings and inventory management workflows and processes across all APAC markets.
  • Ensure oversight of approval of borrow locates for internal desks, cash clients, cash PB clients, synthetic PB clients and put-through of borrows, ensuring all are logged with audit trails.
  • Price all securities for internal and external locates and ensuring full transparency in transfer pricing across all equity trading desks.
  • Cover firm’s short positions, cash PB and synthetic PB clients’ short positions and Pay-to-Holds. Manage excess inventory and refinancing and maximize optimization internally.
  • Positions and PNL must be reported, checked and explained daily.
  • Adhere to risk limits set by the risk control department, with a daily reporting of risk indicators, new positions and major changes in positions.
  • Work collaboratively across Equities and with partners, particularly in IT and Ops to further develop the APAC Prime platform.
  • Liaise with collateral teams, middle office and collateral settlement teams to ensure collateral positions are correctly booked, processed and settled with all operational risks mitigated.
  • Conduct all trading activities with a controlled mindset taking into consideration all F2B risks, fulfilling business conduct requirements and having client’s best interest in mind.
  • Collaborating with partners within Prime, rehypothecate cash PB inventory, price and bid exclusive portfolios in order to build inventory to cater to clients’ flow and to optimize inventory efficiency.
  • Identify corporate action opportunities from working closely with corporate action team and liaise with external lenders and risk counterparts to bring borrow in and monetize.
  • Participate in projects and implementation of new trading tools and platforms. Maintaining an efficient trading/IT environment with a controlled, agile, optimization mindset
  • Improve working relationship between SBL and Sales Traders and leverage BNP’s cross asset strengths, such as stock inventories, competitive financing, access to large number of markets, strong in-house execution capacity to creating more business opportunities.
  • Maintain and continue to build relationships with global/domestic lenders and brokers as well as clients, follow up with periodic dialogues to improve and grow balances.
  • Understand Prime Services business offerings and assist to promote PB platform, in particular cash PB & synthetic flow. Liaise with Origination Sales and PB Relationship Managers to conduct stock borrow loan teach ins and PB Portal securities lending demos etc.

Specific Qualifications

  • Degree holder in Engineering or Finance 
  • Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience from an international bank
