About the job

  • The main purpose of the Profit and Loss Team Leader is to manage the BAU processes around the Production and Explain of the P&L, i.e. directly managing a P&L team in Lisbon. The person will report functionally to the manager of the P&L teams in Lisbon. P&L teams, as part of the Global Markets Product Control, provides a full and dedicated support to the various Global Market Trading Desks located in Paris, London, New York, Singapore or Hong-Kong
     
     

Your Main Activities Are

  • Manage a Lisbon based team of P&L controllers, providing them with clear guidance and objectives in the process of validating the official Economical P&L figures (daily and monthly) and explaining them. When required, coordinate with the other sites to exchange and implement best practice, in order to ensure consistency of procedures and processes
  • Build a diverse and competent team, able to meet the challenges of supporting a complex and growing business
  • Contribute to recruitment, retention and development of staff
  • Undertake the appraisal process and recommendation for compensation of staff
  • Ensure high levels of ethics and professionalism are maintained both personally and in the team. Build and maintain internal relationships based on trust, respect and professionalism
  • Support the management in the implementation of new projects
  • Guarantee and ensure accurate and timely delivery of P&L to traders, Management and Finance P&L Publication team
  • Coordinate month?end P&L delivery to Finance P&L Publication and Services team and obtains traders’ signoff
  • Work closely with the Business and other internal partners (Finance, Back Office, etc.) to ensure all business and operational issues are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Challenge the existing processes and work closely with internal partners and clients to ensure the most effective and streamlined processes are developed
     
     

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Postgraduate in Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • From 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in Banking and Financial Operations
  • Fluent (C1-C2) level of English
  • Knowledge in  Financial Markets – Transversal Financial Markets
  • Client focused

  • Problem solving
  • Ability to develop others and improve their skills
  • Ability to inspire others and generate people’s commitment
  • Skills in Office Pack (Excel and Access)
