About the job
- Within Finance department, Valuation Risk & Governance (VRG) is a team dedicated to the supervision of the entire Fair and Prudent Valuation chain and its use in various downstream chains such as the P&L chain and the Capital chain, acting as a 2nd Line Of Defense
- The mandate of the team covers essentially the Global Markets activities in CIB but extends beyond this scope to cover the main portions of the group fair valued balance sheet
Your Main Activities Are
- Contributing to the assessment of the soundness of several processes such as Non-Standard Booking, Levelling and Day One Profit that will be reported in various valuation committees
- Producing valuation data that will allow the Paris and London team to analyse and control on Fair value product traded on Capital Markets that will be reported in various valuation committees
- Develop reporting, data quality and analysis tools that help deepen the analysis of the positions, risk and management indicators used in the various committees
- Contributing to the assessment of the adequacy and soundness of the fair value adjustments framework
Profile and Skills to Success
- Master Degree in Finance, Financial Markets, Appplied Mathematics or Engineering
- At least 2 years of professional experience in market risk management or financial markets within the Banking sector; Audit or Consultancy firms
- An understanding of Fixed Income and/or Equity Derivatives products such as bonds/stocks, swaps/forwards/futures, options vanillas/exotics, Repos
- An understanding of Fixed Income and /or Equity Derivatives related market data (rates, volatilities, correlations…), and potentially their sources, and the main associated products
- An understanding of risk concepts (delta, vega, VaR…)
- A good understanding of the basic concepts and models in mathematical finance
- A deep sense of control in particular on independent valuation controls or similar finance function
- Fluent in English, oral and written
- Positive attitude to complying with deadlines and objectives
- Ability to work under strong closing pressure
- Effective organisation and time management, including ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent communications skills
- Quality focused, detail oriented and problem-solving skills
- Robust and confident personality
